John was born on 23-Aug-1783. John's father was James Howden and his mother was Elizabeth Morrison. He was the oldest of six children. He had four brothers and a sister, named Robert, James, William, Andrew and Elizabeth. He died, at the age of 79, on 9-Apr-1863.
